As of late last night I was rereleased into the wild.

I underwent a day of testing and waiting, then was transfered to a larger hospital for three straight days of intensive operations and three of rest in the ICU.

My clot was the largest they had ever seen, stretching from below my left knee to just below my lungs.

A catheter was surgically placed into the back of my knee up to my chest and a fine steel "propeller" rotor-rooted inside the vein and passed the blended clot bits through my kidneys. I pissed black for hours after each surgery!

A metal filter was inserted into my abdomen to catch any further clots if they crop up. A good analogy is the steel filter in the kitchen sink drain that catches food bits so they don't go down and clog the pipe.

In three days I go back for a quick catch-up, then in a week I get yet another cat scan to insure the clot's gone and that the filter's doing okay.

I'm incredibly lucky. All were astounded that my lungs hadn't burst, as the clot was resting up against them.

I'm happy to have avoided that fate. >;-)

However, I am weak as a newborn fawn. I'm peppered with black and yellow bruises, littered with needle pricks, nauseus from the filter in my abdomen, and generally wiped out from the surgeries, drugs, and stress.

The longer I type it seems as if my face slides into my lap. Very disorienting if amusing. >;-)

Bed rest time. I'll be back tonight.

I love you!
