ferineApparently these old floppies do work -- many of these contain my posts to AHWW, and Wordpad can read them!
I was mistaken. I remembered my first Colorado Howl as being in '97, but this post is dated at '96! Check this out. I am having such fun going through these things!

The true meaning of friends lies in the connection of souls and the shared warmth of fur. I discovered the true meaning of a Pack, and its importance as a Were, these past few days.
I had never before attended a Howl, though I was invited to most and tried to attend (money does not a Were make - >;-) . This was special, a laid-back java-sipping license-plate mocking carnivorous-bee-ducking event in which the the spirits of Packmates truly danced among bonfires and towering pines.
In the forest with my brothers and sister was as uplifting as the evening downing espresso and Hindu caf-masters at Beatnik's Bagels (Werewolf and the espresso cookies was rather unforgettable, as was the ginseng O.D..... Fly, Shywolf, fly!).
I learned how safe I felt with other Weres whom I had only met briefly on IRC... I felt like one of the Pack again, a distinctive and wild animal. To all who came: thank you for the experience, and I love you all. You are my Pack. After all, lynxes weren't originally called wolf-cats for nothing! >;-)
