Another quick missive before the photo-stravaganza, regarding yesterdays podiatrist visit:

As should go without saying, the appointment was scheduled for before my normal waking hour, insuring my groggy state. I discovered it was last December that I'd been in for the ingrown toenail. It's not even been a full year, and it was even further ingrown this time. The doc cut out and extracted, after several shots around the big toe to numb the area, a piece of nail so big it looked like a full wisdom tooth with roots.

Now the interesting part, curious in that it inspired me to vomit (which, thankfully, I did not; I merely felt the urge), was when the doc took a scalpel to the callous on the left edge of the ball of my left foot. Said callous has been problematic for years, but this last year the pain's gotten out of control. Without any pain killer, he whittles away at the callous with the blade. Of all the crazy medical things I've endured over the years, this was the first to make my mouth water with that prelude to vomit sensation.

Needless to say, I napped for most of yesterday. I'm still pale--well, paler than usual-- and feeling a bit dazed, even a little in shock still, today.

Regardless--after a shower, the photos from September 3rd are going up!
