Saturday, August 29th, was beautiful. The boys and I ventured along the 104th trail. Jay served as my excellent photo facilitator.

Before we left, Athena gave one of my stuffed lynxes a piggy back ride.

This large flat slab of rock sported curious pock-marks. Upon closer inspection, we found sand in most of the holes, and in one a pebble. We surmised that when it rains, the debris swirls in the holes and scores them.

Recall my beloved old log with the intricate root-work? It was gone! We explored, and discovered it--in peices. Parts looked smashed, and the biggest part was edging down the riverbank.
