A big fuzzy bee on a purple aster:
This spider dwarfed full grown orb spiders, which I previously believed were the largest spiders in the area. It was startlingly huge. Any idea what kind it is?
We entered a nearby tunnel, and the railing beside the river was thickly coated in webs. The webs were like stereotypical haunted house webs, absurdly thick and clinging. Here's one of the culprit's behind the webs (if you know what type of spider this is, please let me know):
