Saturday and Sunday saw such a wealth of experience that it's taking me longer than expected to write of today. So, in the meantime, enjoy these photographs taken the previous Saturday (July 11th) at the Adams County Fairgrounds and nature preserve. The magic canopy cottonwood is doing well, and to my joy the necklace I gave it last year is still there and covered with soft fuzzy white webs. It's nice that it's been undisturbed. Jay found a pristine red-tailed hawk feather on the ground just outside the tree's leafy canopy. We needed to pause after foraging through an overgrown field to pick weeds and burrs from our socks, pant legs, and shoes. As we're on a bench doing so, wouldn't you know it--a bald eagle glides directly above us! By the time we got the camera ready it was too late.
Jay was my photo facilitator for the day. Praise his mad skillz, yo.
