Inevitably in the river of life, rain will fall
sometimes rushing the torrent over the brink.

The sky, the weather, the rain, the bank itself,
are not to be cursed, as if they chose to make the flood.

When the thunderhead draws near, unexpected and threatening,
don't scream, or cry, or feel abandoned, blaming all else;

Instead, remember that rain will always fall, just as sun
will always shine, and the weather is beyond the river's control.
